This position is responsible for operating precision manufacturing both automated and manual machines that mold plastic parts.
The production team member may be assigned to casting, molding, compression, or injection molding machines.
The team member must comply with all product safety, legal, regulatory, and quality systems.
Focus Areas of Responsibility Safety Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Report safety hazards and incidents Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety training.
Maintain a clean & organized working area and demonstrate excellent housekeeping skills.
Quality Conduct quality checks:
perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests to identify any defects or deviations.
Participate in and complete quality training.
Complete required documentation related to quality.
Report quality defects immediately to the supervisor, lead, or manager.
Assist quality, maintenance, and other personnel in solving quality problems, errors, and defects to reduce defects.
Communication and Teamwork Work closely with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform preventative maintenance.
Participate and engage in daily shift meetings to ensure information is received from off going shift and pass down to the next shift.
Always behave and communicate in a professional and respectful manner.
Approach conflict constructively and proactively communicate issues and concerns.
Production Operate and monitor machinery in a hot and dusty environment.
Follow all standard method sheets and standard operating procedures.
Keep track of metrics such as output, yield, and downtime.
Report any downtime in production to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
Perform routine maintenance tasks:
cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs on machinery.
Maintain accurate production records, including output, equipment logs, quality inspections, and other relevant data.
Reports on production performance, efficiency, and any issues encountered during the process.
Core Skills & Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalency required.
Must posse's basic computer skills.
Demonstrate minimum proficiency with the English language to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English required.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Two (2) years of experience with operating production machines and inspecting products and performing quality checks in a manufacturing environment.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Abilities This position requires the ability to work in a hot and dusty environment, stand for long periods of time, and work 12-hour shifts.
