General operation of the materials lab including preparation of test samples for the issuance of material and process certifications, monitoring product quality by final inspection and maintaining calibration system for all inspection and test devices ISO knowledge is a must, with writing and maintaining SOP's Handling audits from all facets of customers for many different parts Metallurgical testing would be ideal Inspection and accurate measurements using calipers and micrometers, and other related measurement devices for quality control examinations.
Calling for repairs or replacements of these measuring devices when necessary Inspecting output samples using industry appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards set by customers specifications, dimensions and examining functionality Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database Ability to train production team on quality control measures and to improve product excellence Monitoring the use of equipment and ensure it is safe and discarding any that do not meet requirements Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training Reading and interpreting engineering drawings Collecting and compiling statistical quality data and reporting this information to the plant manager and where needed to the customers Determining the causes of product defects and re-works and assisting the plant manager and team to eliminate these causes Verify all equipment in the quality department is calibrated properly and accurately Other duties and assignments as directed by Management.
Experience:
Three to five years related experience in quality control work.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, and Licenses:
Working knowledge of personal computers utilizing Microsoft software such as Word and Excel.
Knowledgeable in quality management systems such as ISO 9001-2015.
Knowledge of basic gage calibration procedures.
Sound written and oral communication skills.
